By the first of February, the crocus were already blooming. My pansies got off to a bad start, but a few survived and have done well with the warmer than usual weather of January. I've pulled up some gaillardia and prairie coneflowers that were growing too thickly in the south driveway garden. Volunteer poppies and bachelor buttons are up in the same bed.
