Some cats are white or black as ink.
But that's not the kind I have.
I'd have to call her sort of pink.
I think she might be mauve.
Perhaps it's just the morning light
That makes her look so mauve.
I checked her out again last night
To see if that's the cause.
By moonlight she looked more blue
With just a blush of pink,
And a dusty purple mixed in too.
That's close to mauve - you think?
The more I contemplate her hue
The more it strains my brain.
And so I simply have no clue
So mauve she will remain.
In starlight or the light of day,
Incandescent or candlelight,
My cat is mauve, that's what I'll say,
And maybe I'll be right. |
