Welcome to page thirty of a journey through the year 2002 in my garden.
First Week of June

I
have way too many ditch lilies this year. They spread so much and I find it very hard to pull up any kind of lily. They are no less pretty, though, for being a common wild variety.

A wonderful new daylily opened up today for the first time. It is a lovely soft pink. The white trumpet lilies known as Easter Lilies are also blooming now.

The passion flower vine is blooming more this year than it ever has before. The buds have just begun opening up, but there are lots of them. The passion flower is probably the most exotic flower I have in my garden. My friend Kathy in Quincy, Illinois gave me the start a few years ago.
