Welcome to page six of a journey through the year 2002 in my garden.
First Week of April

Easter was early this year (March 31) and I'm hoping we've had the last freeze -- but not certain enough to trust that we won't.  I'll wait for a week or so before I put out anything frost tender.

The creeping phlox is beginning to bloom. I have white ones, a couple shades of lavender, and a hot pink variety.  There are fewer daffodils this year because of the late hard freezes, but the few I have are lovely. I don't have as many grape hyacinths, either, because so many of them were growing where the paths are now. I moved a lot of them, but lost some in the process. The red bud tree is looking great now, though not quite in full bloom.
