First Days of April

Red Bud Tree and Creeping Phlox

A hail storm and then a freeze during the first week of April had me worried, but the garden appears to be unscathed. The creeping phlox is in full bloom now. Only a handful of the tulips I had last year have bloomed this year. I hadn't expected even that many. The border of grape hyacinths along the iris bed is charming. I'm glad I planted them. The picture directly below is spurge, which is blooming now. I rather like the tenacious spurge, though I realize some people consider it a problem plant.
