Ewing cemetery statue
Chris has a thing for old cemeteries, so any time we passed one, she was likely to pull in to take a few shots. This wonderful statue was on a memorial marked with the name of Ewing in a cemetery in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in Cumberlain County.
old steps and stone wall Cemetery on the way to Port Deposit
We found these old steps and crumbling stonewall in the tiny town of Port Deposit, Maryland. I don't know why other people like ruins, but I find comfort in the paradox that man can build things that endure for so long, even while the earth slowly reclaims what is neglected and forgotten. The last shot was taken at a cemetery on the way to Port Deposit. The sun was low in the western sky and on its way to this shot. We just had to wait around to get it.
